Mr. Shy

I got my ringneck 1 month ago and till now it doesn't want to interact with us. Everytime we want to hold it, he/she just flies back to his cage.
It seems as if it doesn't want human interaction at all.
Is it normal or how long does it take to get a bird use to it's family? I don't know what age it is, when i bought it the seller said its 2.5months old. I'm just wondering how a 2.5 month old baby knows how to hold fruits and balance on one leg to eat? And also how can it fly so smoothly for it's age? It seems like a full grown bird to me, how old though - i have no clue.

If they're wings aren't clipped they can fly just fine.
Having them clipped helps them to rely on you a bit more. especially in the beggining. It is personal preferance though. We will eventually give Zazu full flight.
With my bird we have had him for 2 1/2 months and he is 4 1/2 months old. The first 6 weeks he always wanted the security of being on or in his cage. Now I can't get him to stay over there and I try.
