She is gorgeous! Love that 'baby' look to the macaws...Aggie looks like an adult...

Love the FS but I know my macaw would take a finger off!

Beautiful bird and so proud you got the flight suit on.
Now you can take her everywhere :D

The colors are so gorgeous on her. Does she shower or use a spray bottle to keep her feathers so pretty?

I know! I am so envious of those feathers. Aggie will still 'over' preen hers but she has stopped doing it every day. I think it's a nervous habit of hers and won't go away...

Mila has learned about the shower since coming to live with me. She had not seen it before  and is still a little nervous at first but really gets into it after a minute or two. I don't mist her as often as I probably should  but she showers every 5-6 days....did wonders for her feathers :D

Thanks Missi! I am definitely in love with this bird. She has only been with me 3 weeks but the bonding is incredible and each day I see her grow and settle in and become more a part of the "flock".

My IRN babies are not allowed too close to her whereas I put them on the same stand with my grey....they all chatter together, just don't want to risk any lives!

My grey was my first "big" bird, now he feels so small

Oh crappies! I forgot to make a post about it! DANI MADE MY NEW sig av :D

Kim, I gotta ask you. How do you handle that many fids? I want to know how I would ever do it so I need advice.
Like I'm sure you love them all soooooo much so how do you divide your time between them? I'm sure Joe and I will get another IRN some day, and an Alexandrine is my dream bird, I just don't know how I'll divide my attention. ADVICE???

Dani-you're the best! I am going to get pic's to you tonight! Woo-hoo!

Missi--it is not easy---but worth every moment to me. I am slightly  over-extended and the biggest challenge is to make sure the fids don't suffer because of it. I have several stands in my great room and all of the fids spend several hours in the evening out with me (they sleep in the den/bird room). This is also the time they get fresh veggies and nuts. I put the foods out on the trays so they can "forage" together (by species). Then I spend a little one on one time with everybody, some nights one bird is needier than another and I spend my time accordingly. The blue baby (most recent "rescue") will not yet tolerate one on one time--she gets out with the others, hopefully without too much bloodshed (mine!) and I know that is helping her. The quaker pair respond to just being present-try to handle them and kiss your fingers good bye, I am NOT kidding. So they are in a HUGE free flight cage (aviary) but do not come out. There cage is outside under the roof on my front prorch right in front of a picture window so they can see and hear everything going on inside too. BTW--they were doing the mating dance this morning  anybody want a quaker???? All of my fids go outside on the deck in the backyard every day that weather permits, here in N Fl that is most days. I hope that makes up in part for me being gone 8-10 hours a day. Big bird and Mila are needier-they are getting a disproportionate amount of my time right now. Seems to be okay...take it one day at a time. I think they are happy...

Okay, okay :P

I will try to get more pic's...my outdoor cage (which I called an aviary) is about 4'wide, 3'ft deep, and 6 feet high. Some might not consider that an aviary but for a single pair of little quaker parrots I think it fits the definition. They fly all over the place. I used to house 6 lovebirds in the cage and they had tons of room...lovies are gone now so the Quakers inherited the space. They were in a cage the size of my IRN cages when they came to me and that seemed a bit small for 2 birds and a nestbox...

Anyway...no promises as to when but I will get pics up soon.

PS my bird room is a mess but I don't want to hear a peep about it out of you two picture pushers!
