tragidy to my breedimg program

Post by smick »

Last friday the temperature hit 48 decres celcius and with a hot wind. I came home from work and checked my birds ahhhhhhh dead birds everywhere. The hot wind was blowing directly into avairies I got the hose out and started to cool birds and avaries down but alas to late for many. 55 birds dead in total, 32 gouldian finchs dead from 44,3 young moustache parrots from 4 thar I only purchased 3weeks ago. My female kakariki, some baby budgies, my df violet blue ringneck hen, all my canaries bar one cock, all other finchs bar 2 seperate cock birds. I'm now in the process of putting shade cloth on alll shelters and a mist spray system to hopefully limit the danger.

I sympathize with you, really, and I know it must be heartbreaking.

Yes, that is really heartbreaking. Australia has had some uncharacteristically hot weather this season.
