commen for untame irn to talk?

Post by tasha87 »

My male indoor aviary IRN is starting to talk! Its in with his normal chirps and whistles but I can CLEARLY hear him saying "hello".....im super excited because I thought it would only be the super tame hand fed birds that would talk. My cockatoo talks but I dont even think she knows shes a bird lol

my mother had a cockatiel when I was a kid.. the bird was never worked with and got little to no attention and ate only bird seed.. he sat in the living room and was ignored for the most part.
He didn't whistle a lot and when he did i would yell at it to shut up and slap its cage around. (i was probably 13 or 14 and didn't see things as i do now)

anyway one day the phone rang and the bird said hello. that was pretty neat. I stopped being mean to that bird after that.

Has he continued saying hello or is he getting away from it? My bird showed signs or wanting to talk, said a couple things and would happily pick up a new tune to whistle but for some reason he has abandoned all of it

I wish I could blame someone else. I just broke my own computer and had to swear at myself all the while I fixed it.

From the sound of it, you're lucky he's NOT picking up things from YOU!
