The minikins!

Post by kyria »

I was abscent from this site last season when I handraised my three IRN's I dubbed the minikins. The eldest of these bubs is now our beautiful little Pickle.

I did this for Bryan, although he says the music makes him sad and I never did get around to changing it for him;

Thought I would share it here

There is probably an easier way than this but I am having fun messing around with it all.

cheers !

With me, as I am not a pro breeder, I leave the parents raise them until they are around 4 weeks old, they they begin to get feather coverage, and keep them together in a feeding box, at this stage so long as they are in a warm room, no drafts they keep themselves warm, and I feed them 4 -5 five times a day to begin and as they get older wean them down and onto soft foods and soaked seeds, millet spray etc.

It is a great deal of fun ! and a great bonding experience.

Mind you I would never have attempted it without the help of my breeder friend Erik :D he is an amazing support for me.
