my newbie :)

Post by MallyKat »

New IRN, not sure on gender yet but being referred to as 'she'. I thought albino, but the seller (whom had no idea on birds and hated them hence the sale) said she was purchased as a cremello, i'm not 100% on IRN mutations as yet. But she had $40 for a quick sale so i'm not complaining, i think she's adorable. and i'm inlove with her eyes.

Hi there

definitely albino. Apparently the majority of albino's are female, so it may be a she. The only way you can find out is through DNA testing though.

Well done Mallykat,

I knew you would find something in you price range. (bargain)
Very nice birdy.

Just remember everything i said to do before introducing her/him to its mate.

By the way thats a girl for sure, you can put it next to your male and your male should start to dance next to her/him, may help prove it, although some hens do it too but not alot.

Thanks Glenn :D I was very happy when i found her, The woman hated birds and wanted rid of her. Mine i thought! hehe. She's a sweety. Bitey, but she lets me near her and put my hands in the cage. Sano cracks a spac when i go near him. So glad this ones a lil diff. Only problem so far is her beak is a tad long, and she has lice. So i gave her a jumbo cuttle bone and wood to chew, and sprayed her for lice.

Thankyou Ellie!

Oh, by the way, the small cage is only temporary! Please don't think I would keep an IRN in a cage of that size permanently. She has lice so is quarantined from my other birds til they're gone. :)

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
