NEW BREEDER NEED ADVICE

Post by comlog »

Hello Friends,
Pls advise when setting up a cage for breeding a pair of IRN what things I must take care of and secondly what type of situations can come across as a breeder. I want to breed IRN not for business but because I love them. I want to breed a pair of blue IRN which I haven't bought yet so I need as much information from you people as possible. As far as my experience is, I got a 10 days Alexandrine as a gift which I hand fed every 3 hours (Day & Night) and now he/she is 9 months old. It was the first time ever I saw a parrot chick.

Pls advise what should I look for when buying the pair?
How should be the cage?
Any special food should be given to the pair which is good for the breeding?
What are the chances that the mother will leave the chicks hungry? If yes, then how I would know?
The breeding season starts here in Jan/Feb/Mar so is it right time to buy the pair?
Is breeding easy or it can become a nightmare?

The above are just basic questions in my mind but I would appreciate if you enlighten me as much as possible.

Regards,
