Thank you Sheena but we donated our budgie cage a few months ago and I dont want to be carrying something so high. Besides, I have all the wood and a tonne of fence and the stuff I need to build one. So I thought it would be a fun project, that would help me take my mind off Pongo as well.

Dangerous? I dont think so. I might becareful around babies or other birds but not to adults. Yes you're right, they're not eagles. Though I think people are more dangerous than an eagle. New birds might nip or not. That depends on your bird. But I'd never say they come even close to dangerous.

Hmm..I always say that birds need constant attention. So if you're slumped with homework, it would be a problem. But say, you could schedule in an hour or two of training at a specific time everyday, then its ok. But when you're doing your homework or something, he should be in his cage next to you...

Also with the red light, dont leave it on for more than 15 minutes at a time and the distance should be at least 30 centimeters. Give them an hour or so in between the 15 minutes. Try to keep the temperatures warm and constant.
