Re: Hen wont start setting

I am having a similar problem with my blue pallid hen. If anyone/anything goes near the avairies she is off her eggs and checking things out. Her first clutch of 4 eggs ended up being infertile(from not sitting properly or not mating correctly I am not sure). I took them out at around 30 days so she...

Hi Eshana I am definitely keeping 1 baby, Lushen has been kind enough to agree to taking a baby as I had asked earlier for either a blue or grey pallidino baby from my Little Grey from his pair 2. So we will do a swop at some stage. Then I will sell the 3rd baby. That way I will be able to see the o...

Oh yay!!!! :D I am so glad. Last year Tux and snowy laid 5 eggs. All 5 babies hatched. A week and a half after after what I had though was the last baby there was another baby in the nest. I forgot to add, you will only be able to tell the sex of the baby when it is 2-3years old. If it is a male it will get a dark ring, unless it is a lutino/creamino, it will get a red ring, or albino in which case it won't get a ring at all. Blue is definitely an Indian Ringneck. The correct colour terminology for Blue is a blue pallid although some people still refer to that colour by the older term as blue lacewing.
