Re: Hello there.
Anked and Missie, and Nicole , How's it going with your new additions? Our fella seems to going backwards a bit- before he would take apple, grapes and seeds nicely from me, but now just lunges and bites it from my fingers and drops it to the ground. It seems like he could care less about a "re...

Re: First time owner, new to all of this
Thanks for that great reply. I find my hardest part is patience. I will need to set a timer for myself to just WAIT - but so far so good. So you do not take him out of the cage, but just leave the door open for his "outside time"? Our bird is Green and although he came with a name, it wasn...

Re: First time owner, new to all of this
Thanks- very helpful and well put and the time frame was helpful. When you worked with him at first would it always just be through the bars of a closed cage? And then I should work my way up to open cage- stepping out? For instance today, I approached the cage- it's in our main living area with my ...

Re: First time owner, new to all of this
That's encouraging!! Ours is about the same age and we are just in the first three days. It's great he's stepping up- did you have to work with him a lot, what "method" helped you the most? Ours will take food from my hand easily- but I can tell is still weary of this whole new situation. ...

Re: Frozen veggies and fruit
Great ideas- my new adopted 7 month old was mostly eating a seed blend HEAVY with sunflower seeds- but he's taking all I offer in the fruit area, but not so much in the veggie area. I'll check out some recipes!!

We have 2 cats (Sam and Bunny) (18 years old-low energy) both rescue and one of the ca...

Hello-
Now that it's been a bit- how are things going? We have a new 7 month IRN- he's also quite nippy and "big headed" ha ha
It's hard to be patient- but I will!!
Just curious how things have progressed for you?

Re: Hi all
Welcome- I am also new- having a year of experience with an IRN!! Our recent addition is a 7 month Green and he's slowly adjusting to his new home. Being excited it's hard not to rush ahead, but he needs time!! He has an interesting squak that almost sounds like a quick car alarm- but cute. I suppos...

Wow- so many great ideas- I really want to make something that will be easier for my fella to get back into his cage. Wonderful imagination. My children will love making something. Maybe we can even make it double as the next school "project"!!

Re: lost of Bluey
So sad to hear this story. As a newbie, I did not even realize you could "Show" them windows. Can you explain how you go about this? We have many that we can't close off from the rest of the house. So perhaps your loss can help me prevent one here.

Re: Hello there.
Hello and welcome, I am also new here and also have a new green IRN- he's 7 months and we just adopted him. He's pretty freaked out in his new home- He just arrived Friday afternoon. He was handled a fair amount before, so had been taking treats of seed and apple from me. But always appearing fearfu...

Hi- so glad to have found you!! Stop bye and say HI
I'm Annie and have just about one year experience- or lack of experience- with IRN. Our first, Skylar (Blue) we adopted at age 4- well raised, hand fed by the prior owner and already talking. He was a bit grumpy, but a great guy to have around. He adjusted well to our full home of 5 people- (2 adult...
