What are your thoughts about leg bands?

Hi

I have a IRN and this is my first bird, i fell in love and had to have her so now i cant get enough lol

I have noticed that in a lot of the photos that most of the IRN's and other birds have leg bands.

What is the general opinions of these and would you recommend me get one.

Do the new feather itch them, Heeki is a baby and is getting his feather on his head now and is starting to look normal, however he is scratching his head a lot.
I put it down to the new feathers, i know when my hair grows back it itches lol

Thanks guys we put him in a travel box, which he sits on the bars of the door and looks out, so he isnt is darkness however his personality is definitely developing. Im glad the growling noise his normal, does make me laugh though. I'm starting to understand that this isnt a quick process grr howeve...

I have had Heeki for 2-3 weeks now, he came from an avery and wasnt hand reared and is about 9-10 weeks old, I am being patient and slow with him to get him to trust me. I have read that IRN's can be moody and as he is the first one i have had i'm not sure whether i am doing something wrong. One day...

my Heeki makes this noise just before he goes to sleep at night, it is as if he is grinding his beak, i have looked to see if he has any seeds in his mouth as the noise is similar to when they crack a seed open however he has nothing in his mouth.
