Re: two new baby ringnecks lunging at my tame 1yr old ringne
If the young ones have been handfed from a very young age, they probably don't see the older RN as one of their own kind. So, I would just follow the advice given here.

IRNs are very resilient, and I suppose he's a pet bird kept inside... He'll be fine... Good luck with your move.

Re: Flat Alex
Thank you! Max is definitely healthy. He's curious - he wants to beak everything he sees. He can run pretty fast, too, when he's trying to scare the dog... Ben (Great Dane X) already has a healthy respect for Max. I have never had a baby this young before, and the image of Shrek probably still haunt...

Re: question about pooping
Thanks, Ellie
Max is only very young, 33 days old to be exact. I'm pretty sure the breeder didn't toilet train him... I just find it very interesting, that he waits till I put him down, whether it's his sleeping quarters, his cage or on my bed for when I take photos of him.

question about pooping
My baby Alexandrine has not pooped on me, yet, in the 5 days I've had him... It's not that Max doesn't poop, but he seems to wait until I put him down somewhere else... I can be sitting with him on my chest for over an hour - it can be before or after feeding, and it doesn't make any difference, but...

If you rotate her toys, maybe you can swap the ball for another favourite for a little while and see how she goes?

Re: Raising o8 Days old Alexandrine Chick
Someone around here are also advertising Alexandrines... They have no red patch.. Maybe they're a mutation, don't know.. But I wanted a pure Alex - Not interested in beautiful mutations.. Max was 4 weeks old, when I got him, and he certainly looks like a 'pure' Alexandrine.

Flat Alex
Yesterday I was sitting with 31 days old Max... he was on my chest, had tucked his little head into a fold on my t-shirt and made himself completely flat... I had my hand just resting on his back. I lifted up his head a bit, but it just went back down... I was so afraid that he was sick... Every tim...

Hi there
Welcome to IndianRingNeck... I'm new as well, and thought I'd reply, as there doesn't seem to be a lot of replies here in introductions.
There is a wealth of information, though..
Cheers

Re: Major Mitchell Cockatoo and Galah
Yes, they are a bonded pair, even though they're both male.... I have 2 females a shortbilled Corella and a Galah, who have also bonded to each other.

New and very excited
Hi My name is Lene and I live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. On Friday I bought an Alexandrine, only 4 weeks old... Name is Max for short regardless whether he's a male or female. He's such a smooch, and he's eating really, really well. Takes less than 5 minutes to feed him. The breeder said he...
