Re: First moult....

If you don't want your bird to fly, remember that every time he/she moults, it is often a sign that he/she needs their wings clipped, if you choose to clip them. (vet told me this)
I usually leave a bowl with water and he cleans himself up and looks great.

Re: Seeds for different types of birds ok??

From my research people give thier IRN's different types of seeds such as: Cockatiel seed mix Canary seed mix Budgie seed mix Conure seed mix Are thier anyother seed mixes you can use, and can you combine the different seed mixes? I was wondering this because the cockatiel seed mix tends to have a ...

I was thinking of somthing younger but they would have to been weaned...right? And they do live for 30 years so It wouldn't matter at what age really. It dosn't have to be so young so that It can learn w...

Re: New IRN, Pics and some questions

Hi I got my Ringneck just 2 days ago. Decided to call him Kaelen. :) He's a gorgeous Grey IRN, apparently 4 and 1/2 months old, I'm told. Here's a picture of him, do you think that age is correct? (he's still rather scrawny and his feathers aren't in the best condition, but he hasn't been brave eno...

Re: Raw peanuts?

Hey, Many types of nuts are fine for IRN to eat... I have fed mine a peanut uncooked w/o shell before and he loved it. So I don't see any problem. I have found my bird prefers Almonds and Sunflower seeds, Check on the internet first, but IRN are supposed to be fine with Fruit, Nuts and Seeds as a di...

Re: Albino?

I recently adopted an albino DNA-sexed male. He is now about three months old and I am noticing that his head and wings have a slight tinge of blueish/gray to them. His eyes are pink. His mother was white and his father was grey, that's all I know. I've been told that he will not get the ring if he...

Lenny's Escape!! And how we got him back!

On the 29th of August at around 5:30PM, Lenny flew off my mum's shoulder. After searching everywhere around our house for 4 hours, we had no luck. So we decided to go inside and wake up at 5:30AM to try and find him. We had left the cage out all night hoping he would come back to it during the nigh...
