Hi and welcome to the site. There is so much useful information here. He is a beautiful bird. I have 3 and am getting a 4th next week. I think it is very confusing information also. I am thinking flat linoleum with unprinted newspaper for easy cleaning. My flight cages will be on a wooden deck in an enclosed screen porch. I plan to put hardware cloth underneath the linoleum to make doubly sure predators are no problem.

Hi! Fortunately all my birds live in the screen porch and we live on acreage. There are no neighbors for a half a mile on that side of the house. I can really enjoy them because they are really close and I can see them from the living room but if we want to watch tv or sleep in the noise doesn't bot...

Re: What is the best mate for Mr. Pickle?
I don't know what Mr. Pickles parents were but the girl I got him from thought he was split to blue. I think to get violet you have to have at least one violet. Green violet is the same as SF violet for breeding purposes. My green female was supposed to have a blue father and lutino mother. I may br...

I have 3 ringnecks. 2 males and a female in separate cages. Mr. Pickle is loud, he screeches when he wakes up for a while and in the evening. Need advice on green violet
I am going to pick up a green violet female IRN in about a week. Is there anything that I need to look for to be sure that is what it is. The pictures the breeder sent me look like an olive type of green with a violet tail. It is in an aviary with all blues and violets. She is about a year old and I...

Thx! He really is beautiful and my favorite of all my birds. He is the noisiest and loves attention. My green female, Dilly, is pretty quiet unless I walk past her cage with a blue yardstick. I have a chance to get a year old hen that is violet green/blue for a reasonable price. I think I might try this. Hopefully this will work out. Another question, what if you bred the green violet to a violet male? Or the turquoise male to a violet? Which one should I get to breed with Cloud?
I have a blue cinnamon male and was wondering what the possibilities would be if I breed him to a grey green cinnamon/blue or a green lacewing/blue? He may be split to lacewing. I don't want to get too many greens. If neither is right I can wait until something better comes along.

I have a question about breeding I have never seen answered anywhere. How old is too old for a ringneck to breed? How many years can they become parents? I have looked on line and can't find a thing.
