Re: How to get Lutino and Blue; possibly Ino

Hi, first of all you have to distinguish between a male or a female because if for example you pair a blue male and yellow female, their young female will be green/blue only. If I get a mate for that one, that was produced from a Lutino and Blue pair; then I would have all green babies split to lutin...

Re: Feathers?

From the other photos none seem to have red eyes. The red eye is mostly visible when they are young and then they darken a little when they get older. This means that all 5 young will be dark colored(green or blue in your case) Red eyed could mean (lacewings, cinnamon, ino and blueino). So none of yours ...

Re: Feathers?

So... that means Sky (Blue) the father, if we get a green baby than that means he was split to green? No bird could be split to green. If you know what color were his parents I might be able to tell you if he is split to anything. But most probably you can exclude that he is split to ino because if so...

Re: Feathers?

Definitely blues.
This means that your pallid female is split blue. And if the male is not split to anything all young will be green and blue.

Re: Late dead in shell.

I went to the vet,and he told me that probably 90% of the cause is that the egg shell is too hard.Next time he told me not to give them any supplements only a healthy diet. The other 10% could be a form of disease. Now he told me to wait for next year and if it happens again he would examine their dro...

Re: Late dead in shell.

The second batch had its first egg laid on 9th March. But I am not sure when incubation started. In previous years she used to s...

Re: Late dead in shell.

Unfortunately both of them died.Something that I noticed that was abnormal was, that they were extremely sticky.Example their wings would stick to their bodies.Or if I put them together they would stick together(possibly because of low humidity). When I put them back in the nest they were sticking to ...

Re: Late dead in shell.

Sry,I haven`t talk to you later but I have been busy helping them out.First I made a small hole in the air cell. Then moisted the inside with some warm water and put them in an incubator. After a few hours peeled off some shell and then put them back in the incubator.Repeated this stage several times ...

Re: Late dead in shell.

I have bought a hygrometer and the humidity is about 80% on the outside and inside the nestbox is 73%.Suppose that it is enough for them to hatch. Now all I can do is wait and see.I am spraying a little water every other day possibly to increase the humidity if humidty is the problem.
Thanks a lot

Re: Late dead in shell.

In fact I have already taken them to an expert breeder and told me that the shell is a little bit harder than normal but not that much.He suggested me to continue giving them calcium supplements and I thought that, that would make the eggshell even harder but he said that the supplement is absorbed b...

Hi guys, This year my two pairs of ringnecks laid 6 and 5 eggs, totalling 11 eggs. All of them were fertile and properly incubated. The day they were suppose to hatch you could hear them chirping inside the egg.But unfortunately none of them hatched. When I opened the eggs all of the chicks were fully d...

Re: What can be the outcome?

Hi, The breeder from whom you bought them lied to you when he told you that the parents were albino and lutino. As all offsprings from this pair will be ino(yellow) and if the lutino parent was split to blue the offsprings would be white and yellow. But it is possible that the parents of the green fem...

HELP:5 week old ringneck loosing all its feathers.

Recently I bought 2 baby ringnecks which I am handfeeding. They are both very healthy, lively and do not seem to be sick at all.Last night while I was giving them the last feed I notice that a primary feather fell from one of its wings but since it was only one feather I did not care much. This morning...
