IRN sneezing question
Hi there, my young bird seems healthy and happy so I am not overly concerned, but I have noticed that randomly now and then she sneezes. When she sneezes a little bit of liquid is expelled at the same time. She is eating fine and seems perfectly healthy, so I guess I am just curious about the small ...

Re: Adopted and Scary!!!
As a new owner of a IRN myself, I can not really give too much advice. Congratulations on getting her to step up on the perch, you should be pleased with that. I found with my bird her with me to a different room and letting her interact with me or just watch and be around myself worked quite well f...

Re: BEAK- ABNORMAL?
I was just going to post about my 3 month old Koko's beak as well, and then saw this post.
Koko's beak is showing some darker colour where it curves and the rest is red, so I was wondering what that meant as well.

Re: confusion re; good food/bad food
Koko has a small cherry tomato at least every second day. I never thought of them as being bad for her.

Re: Time out of cage
Not sure of how much actual time is needed out of the cage, I think that would vary on factors such as the bird itself and it's cage size and whether it makes use of toys etc. About spending time with a bird to keep it socialise and tame, I have read the same thing many times and it seems like good ...

Re: New - need help with my ringneck.
You loved that bird and cared for it when it was ill. What your feeling is grief and all the complex emotions surrounding it.
I am sorry for your loss. I lost my bird last month and at times I feel guilt and anger at myself, but I know that I tried to do what was best.

Re: Sending and Aussie Hello from myself and my lovely babies..
Pippy is probably showing some jealousy but I think it's mostly his nature. I have had to save even the wild birds from him on occasion. I remember one time grabbing a young lorikeet out of his jaws. I am still upset about what occurred and realise I have to be very vigilant about Pippy getting indo...

Re: My New IRN and her housing arrangements
Melika, that is beyond awful what occured. Rats are something that would be a problem anywhere, city or more rural area. I would not ever leave my bird out at night and even more so now considering what you have described happening. Just thinking of that occuring to any bird is so scary. I appreciat...

Re: Charlie, please know I loved you.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I don't know why this has upset me so much, afterall I didn't have him as part of the family for that long, but it has upset me as I think I feel a sense of guilt. I just have to forgive myself as I did try and do everything right by him, but the circumstances ...

Charlie, please know I loved you.
I came here as a suggestion from another member to post about my beloved Charlie. I am crying as I type this and it's been a few weeks since he was killed. I guess it has affected me more as I had bonded with the baby over the short time he was with me. Charlie was a bird that was bought on a whim a...

Hi Sheena, I will post photo's soon, just need to look around and find where they go. I don't have too many of my birds as they are new additions and getting to know us. But my cats and dogs have been around for awhile longer :) Recently lost my beautiful Cockatiel Charlie as he was killed by one of...

My New IRN and her housing arrangements
Hi from a new member. Not sure if it's okay to revive an old post instead of posting new but will take the chance, I was reading the following topic http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6989 and noticed some of the homes that the various birds are housed in. I have a large cag...
