also, younger male reduce chances due to dominance required. but, females r territorial especially while pairing (in breeding season) so need to keep an eye until they understand n accept each other.

it is normal... n very soon, means in few days, his tongue would be in control. Before that, sometimes he would be able to successfully repeat words n sometimes not.
After first word, hello in ur case, he would learn quickly.
