yep, I agree with Ringo- it's a Violet SL Edged. They are actually very common- most of the time when you're looking for a true Cinnamon you'll find these instead (wrongly being advertised as such).


I also think that your bird is a cock going by that shot.

Albino. Contrary to popular belief, Albino Indian Ringnecks will all end up having blue eyes (irides) and black looking pupils. Of course though they are hatched with red eyes which slowly change over the coming weeks.


Take a pic with a flash- they will be red again :)

okay- I'll go with Cinnamon- if only they can also have normal coloured edged feet and lower beaks like other non Cinnamon SL Edged birds. as said previously, his feet look like normal edge feet- normal coloured- the horn parts (nails) are grey- and the flesh is grey/brown his lower mandible is dark...

Hmm.. My personal experience and studying of Greys is limited since I haven't owned any before this year. I have heard others who say their normal Greys can have a blue through their heads at certain angles and lights- similar to what I have heard for some Dark Blue Greys. -to me he (his head) only...

Hens can be split- just not to any sex-linked mutations. Violet and Dark are not recessive mutations, they are dominant, meaning they will 100% express on a bird if they are present- although they can be masked by Ino and Grey these are the only exceptions of where Dark and Violet won't be displayed...

I deduce from the above, that they Grey chick carries two recessive Blue genes and at least one dominant Grey genes. It could be of either gender..

Yeah, GreyGreen's are still commonly (but mistakenly) called 'olives' unfortunately some people just call it how they see it.
