Yup.. sounds like bluffing to me. I know my Anakin isn't bluffing yet, but he is definitely testing us. We're not letting him get away with anything. He wont 'bite'. He doesn't lunge down and bite. He tends to chew on our fingers. Bluffing can last a couple weeks or a couple months. It just depends ...

maybe try getting a container (doesn't have to be anything flashy) and putting some food in it and moving it to the opposite side from the original bowl. See if Skye stops Ani from eating from both. If it keeps going you may need to feed them seperatley for a little bit . Thanks I'll try that. :) S...

Skye wont let Ani eat...
It's not like Skye's simply not letting Ani get to it when he's eating, but more like Skye will climb down from the play gym just to chase Ani away and then climb back up. I know this is Skye being territorial and the dominant bird, but when will he let Ani eat? Will he ever let Ani eat? Should I go...

Made some real progress tonight Worked out that if I make a fist and he cant really see my fingers he gives a wee nibble, then when i nudge him he steps up with no treat, and then is getting rewarded. Think that is the mistake I was making, letting him see the treat before getting him to step up......

He can't be dancing.. We have one of those DVR things were you can pause live tv and it is paused. The only noise is me typing and my husband chatting on the phone. He goes side to side a little bit, too. It almost looks like that regurgitation head bob. Nothing is coming up though. He's not sitting...

Upon thinking about it more.. I have a bit more to add if that's ok with you. Here goes. It appears to me he is quite tame, he just picked up a bad habit. Definitely alter the taming/training process. Change the time you're treating him. Ditch the treats for now though. You may have to suffer a few ...

The DNA test kits I requested have arrived today. I have a blood card for collecting a few drops of blood and a tiny bag for freshly plucked feathers. Which of those two is the least uncomfortable? I read that it would require 5-7 plucked feathers for accurate results. That's quite a few. Which one ...

Re: Wet birdies!
This is a horribly cruel way to treat those birds! why would you get them wet like that?? Parrots bathe in the wild under rainfall. The best way to emulate this is to hold a shower head above and a little in front of them to let them get wet on their own terms. Skye loves bathing so he gets under t...

I am sure Skye will continue to speak (english and birdie). He probably just got excited by the new bird and reverted to natural bird noises. If it takes some separation time to keep Skye reminded of his english, then that is a good idea. If both you and Skye speak english to the new bird, there is...
