When to start giving solid food and water?

Im wondering what the best time is to introduce a baby ringneck to solid food and water?
I have read that its when they start nippling at things, but the baby i have now is already doing this and his only 3 weeks old.

Re: Is my Ringneck ready to wean?

it depends on each bird to when they will wean
i have had some wean at 6 weeks and another at 12 weeks

i would continue to feed it the formula, once or twice a day depending on how much fruit and vegtables it eats

good luck :)

techniqually they shouldnt be able to call it a pure alex
but once only alex have been used for breeding for lots of generations of the bird (not sure how many) they then can call it a pure alex
