I'm so glad that I found this thread, as my Sunny has become the worst screamer since we moved to the new house.

All I can do is cover him up so he can't see anything.

I've just bought a house that's been vacant for a while. Went to have a look at the house the other weekend and found a family of kangaroos checking me out.

Obviously they'd claimed the garden as theirs and I was the intruder.

I will have to watch my dogs with them though as kangaroos can kill.

 We started off with Vetafarm. They seem to like that. But I got Passwells because my 2 are fussy with colours and Passwells is not coloured. They look like chook pellets! We might try Zupreem next as I've seen it around. Not much choice down here in Aussieland. Let me know where you get Zupre...

My Sunny loves strawberries. He gets into a right mess with them. His eyes pin when he eats one. Awful to clean up though as they stain.

He also loves chicken and cheese.

I love Melbourne Zoo. Must take the kids again because we haven't seen the new orangutans enclosure.

Thinking of buying a yearly pass which gives unlimited access. It's always a great day out there.

I'll certainly will be working on it.

Going bush, away from suburbia.

I wonder how my feathered family will like it. I'm hoping they will love it as there is an abudance of birdlife where I will be living.

No doubt they will try and compete to be the loudest....lol.

I'm back!

I haven't been here for a couple of months.

LIfe has been pretty busy of late with house hunting, packing, kids and turning 40.

The big move is this coming Saturday but I'm looking forward to it.

Hopefully after the move, I will be able to find time to do more posting in here.

Any NSW people that can go rescue this poor bird? It looks like it's being fed a diet of sunflower seeds and left alone in a small cage :(

Yes my Sunny gets an assortment of fruit and vege as well as the seed/pellets.

He'll also try and con whatever we're eating too.

Sunny loves mouths and teeth. Obsessed with mine to the point s/he wants to regurgitate and try to feed me.

It's just gross. It's always mushed up pellets and they have an awful sweet smell.

Yes they are kept separate as much as possible and I try not to let him/her see me handling the IRN. If the cockatiel wasn't such a savage, he/she might get handled like the IRN.

Here's my cockatiel. Just started plucking it's feathers out much to my dismay. S/he pulls out the large wing feathers and makes her/himself bleed, hence the collar. Avian vet believes cockatiel is jealous of the IRN as the plucking started around the same time IRN arrived. http://img.photobucket.co...

Re: WOW

*smiles gleefully* spoiled little ones eh? I bought this cage second hand. To buy new they are about $570AUD. I paid $150 for it. It was dismantled and very dirty from storage but I managed to get it assembled (alot of swearing involved). I just bleached it and scrubbed it until I was happy with it.

Hello! I'm Steffi I'm new to this forum as well. I'm from Melbourne. I've owned birds all my life but have never owned a IRN before. I recently became mum to an 18month old ringneck named Sunny. I adopted Sunny from some friends who have a new human baby. Sadly they don't have the time to spend with...
