The pure white albinos I have seen do not get rings, but it looks like your baby has a bit of pigment, so maybe a lighter ring? I have seen all sorts of prices for ringies in the states, but my pair are both rehomed, one from the LA Pound, one from a friend on a bird board, so I have not carefully ...

Sounds ok -- bigger is always better -- they can be a bit clumsy when they are little, especially when they first grow in their tail feathers. Can't wait to meet the little guy!

The only way to tell for sure if it is a boy or girl at this stage is to have him/her DNA tested. Otherwise, you will have to wait and see if a ring develops. Congrats on your new fid.

I don't really know -- got him from the Los Angeles Animal Shelter in Sept of 2006, and he did not have his long tail feathers yet (or that is my guess now, at the time I was not sure if he had them and lost them somehow)

Mine are too busy chewing on the wood in their cage to be interested in the wire. Fingers crossed they stay that way. I have a fairly small mesh (since I used the same size for each of my flights, including the small birds) and my ringies cannot really get a good chomp on it!
