proper quarantine

Hi peeps! I've been searching around the forum on proper quarantine time. It seems that there are many ideas, some say 4 weeks and others 2 months. I really would like to know which is correct. Does anybody have an idea on the quarantine length for like imported birds entering a certain country? thi...

regular or jumbo

i went in to a pet shop here in Riyadh the other day to look for a pair for my male fid and saw that they were selling two types (as per the caretakers). they were of different sizes! of course the smaller one (like mine) sold far more cheaper than the big ones which sold 4 times more! there was no ...

i don't think it moves a bit! whatever position i leave him, that's exactly where he is when i come back! It even has a favorite spot on his perch and won't even try to walk around a bit. is this normal or is my fid just too lazy? i don't think it's sick coz eats well and moves fast if i try to play...

open perch or cage?

which is much better, an open perch or a cage? i recently switched my fid from a cage to a perch but I don't see many bird owners do that. i already set aside the cage and just leave my fid on it's own the whole day. I had it's wings clipped so I'm assuming he won't get around much. I left him insid...

newbie looking for bird enthusiasts in riyadh

Hi I'm a newbie and would like to meet or chat anybody from Riyadh. It seems that there's not much info on pets or pet shops here. so if anybody's from this part of the earth it would be a great help for me! :D

nice to have a very warm welcome here! didn't expect to have so many replies! it shows that this is a good community of bird lovers. anyways, for those asking why I named him Manolo...actually the previous owners named him Birdie which is quite obvious (duh!) so I decided to rename him. chose Manolo...

hi there!

Hi I'm Peter a newbie with birds. I actually acquired mine thru a friend who migrated. I'm the 3rd owner as far as I know and it seems that my bird "Manolo" is a very rarely socialized bird. maybe left in the cage for display purposes only. I'd assume he's roughly 10 years old so this mean...
