Updated pics of my babies
They are my boys and I love them soooo much .. Jordan is the court jester clown, getting up to all kinds of entertaining mischief and Pickle is the gentle giant, very passive but totally the boss.

I will be spending most of my time anxiously watching and waiting and if it happens I will try and get as many pics as they will let me without disturbing them too much. Even if they are not fertile this season (probably because of how quickly they got into it and the fact that kai is tame and clipp...

in about three days, Mickey and kai's eggs should start hatching. Thats if they are fertile. I never did get up the guts to handle and candle the eggs. Next season when Mickey is more tame and I have a better more accessable nesting box and area, i will learn to do that. So fingers crossed I will be...

Jordan was handraised, after a while at home, even though we handled him alot, he started to not like to be petted, I simply then forced the issue. He would wiggle and squirm and try to get away, hated ! it ! .. but I kept on huggin and cuddling and petting him, especially petting him when he was sl...

I can see what looks like black edges on the feathers starting there Mik. Just to clarify, because so many people wait on the moult for the ring to suddenly be in and correct me If I am wrong .. but the ring doesn't just suddenly come in fully after a moult .. It will begin to appear somewhere aroun...

Mallory has gone to a new home
Just to fill those in that don't know. Mickey and Mallory were a pair that I rescued from being set free that were supposedly a breeding pair. They actually turned out to be both female (knew within the first 2 days just by their actions). My pet boy kai fell in love with mickey and they went off to...

Do you have wood around for him/her to chew on.. Natural branch perches, icypole sticks, cuttle fish, wooden toys from the bird stores, even an old leather belt, he may just want to excercise and sharpen his beak. Try distracting him with other toys or things he can chew and play with. Old wooden ch...

Hi Saadia, Can you think of anything your fid may have injested that it shouldn't have ? .. even say chewing at things with bits of wire in them that may be upsetting its crop, or other birds or animals food that could be causing some bacterial infection ? Here is a link to an online vet, I know it ...

Sudden and exciting trip to florida in Dec/jan for 6 weeks. I leave in 13 weeks - 9th dec. If i hand raise the babies, they should be about 7 weeks old just before I leave. Will they still be on 3 feeds a day or so, how weaned will they be ? Depending how many hatch etc. one will stay with us (so my...

Mickey was off the nest
And I got to check on her eggs.. Four of them still in tact all clutched together .. I wish she wasn't so wild and scared.. sure would make it easier to check on things.. so if the 3rd egg was laid 2nd september the 4th would have been on the 4th and now its the 7th .. so where do I count the 23 day...

Thats fantastic ! you cannot visually determine age. Actually you cannot determine age any! way (except a guess at approx age if you know when a ring started as in your case). Indian ringnecks will begin to ring in around the age of 2 years and be fully in by the age of 3. So if your baby is almost ...

Ok.. I haven't seen mickey out of her nesting box for 3 days now. Since the last time I checked and there were three eggs. I wonder if infact she does come out ever so briefly and I miss it or is kai expected to feed her while she is sitting on the eggs ? Do they both parent, are they going to take ...
