My Priya who is DNA sexed female actually did the dance just like Nila my DNA male, only she did it for me, not him. I was holding her on my arm and chest and she stood tall, pinned her eyes, kept bobbing that head back and forth and making little chirping noises at me and trying to regurgitate food...

Not sure of the correct answer there, sorry but I think it varies with the bird but if it's gone on a year I'd say it's an established behavior pattern and not just bluffing.

The birds here are varied but not so colorful as that.

Is Loki then old enough to respond the a baby bird as a mother would and want to feed it?

So maybe Loki is a girl and trying out her mother behavior. Since I have never seen that I could be all wrong about it being boy behavior. :roll:

If you can you may try giving him different foods until you find one he loves and then use that to lure him to come to you to get it. I know he likes peanuts but might try grapes or sweet green peas. My Nila will do anything for sweet green peas and Priya loves peanuts. So if thy give me a hard time...
