Identifying baby ringnecks...

Post by BirdLover02 » Sun Oct 07, 2018 11:55 pm

Hello,
I have four, 3 week old Ringneck chicks that are away from mummy and daddy as I am hand rearing. They are feeding no problem and they are a joy to cuddle and raise. The only trouble is I have no way to identify them. They don’t have there colours yet so I was wondering if there is any way to identify them so I can learn each individual and notice their individual behaviours. My mum suggested to tie string around one foot (not tight obviously but so it wouldn’t fall off) but we were concerned as to whether they could eat the string and be harmed, become ill or die... If there are any tips or ideas to help identify the babies and separate them so they aren’t identical please let me know! Desperately wanting some sort of identification marker!!
