Baby blue questions

We bought a blue baby IRN - on Thursday.

I have a couple of questions -
His/Her feet have hue's of blue in different spots, is this "normal"

He/She was hatched June 5th, and they forced it down to 2 feedings a day - the baby was starving always beginning - Is not a force stopper, At this age how many should she be on?

It has been displaying alot of flapping around in his cage. Is this "normal"

How much does a Blue cost in the Ohio area? These ppl didn't know what they breed they said it was a ring neck dove

If your baby was hatched early June,He/she should be weaned by about now...Is the baby eating well on own? Encourage that! Too much "babying" can have negative effects on a bird's behavior. I can't imagine how a petstore owner could not know the difference between a dove and an IRN! You got a good deal if you paid for a dove rather than an IRN, I'm sure! Here in CA a blue IRN baby goes for $200 and up- Ive heard one local breeder asks $425 for hers!
The foot color is probably normal-the wing flapping is what all IRNs do to exercise their muscles-make sure baby gets enough time out of cage-and that cage is roomy enough to allow flapping without injury!
Congrats on your new family member-raising an IRN is a really fun adventure!

was hatched late June - non the less I do understand the negitive affects also. He does eat "ok" on his own. Surley other species Ive raised such as Greys, Conures have surley shown more intrest in food on there own at this point. BUT him being here only a couple of days I will put into play. He does get plenty of out of cage time, hes doing wonderful at his turns and landings... so adorable!!!

The place i got them was a local "breeder" after going there I find out there is a large barn filled with all diffrent species, some they had no idea of...They had a meyers with a red belly and a Timmy grey with a congo so they are either VERY un-educated or trying to mix up alot of pretty genes.... I gave 100.00 for the baby blue & here they greens sell for 200.00, yellows about 250.00 and the blue close to 300.00

Hi again-
Your baby is lucky that you came along! One more thing I forgot to mention before-when I brought my blue kid Bodhi home at 9 weeks,he
was supposedly weaned but as you noted the 1st few days in a new home can be a little confusing -my Bodhi wanted to be spoonfed and I obliged- but I gave him what is still one of his FAVE foods-Earth's Best organic spring vegetables w/pasta -its baby food-comes in a glass jar-usually next to Gerber's foods in the baby aisle at grocer's.It's perfect tecture and it's loaded w/vit. A -so important. Try babyfood sweet potatoes too- again, full of vit A! And carrots -babyfood or any form-best food of all for
Vit A. Just had to pass this on- Have fun! -Sue & Bodhi
