I'm travelling to a different city on professional grounds for a month, due to wwhich I will have to leave my little guy 'Remo' at my parents house. They have no clue on how to train this guy, but they can provide him with food regularly and talk to him. As Remo is attached to me and doesn't like anybody in my room, I wanna know if this guy will forget me when I'm not around. Will he forget his basic training which I have given him...right now he picks coins and puts them in the box...turns around on command...

It will affect your lil buddy but you have to do what you have to do. If your parents let it sit in the cage, bad news for you when you get back. He will eat you alive, like when he was a baby (if you had him then).

Are they scared of the bird? If not, not a big deal. Have them keep him in routine and MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND HE CAN NOT STAY IN THAT CAGE. Sad to say, my entire family begged and swore to help me with this 30 yr committment and NOT ONCE has anyone so much as changed her water or made kissy noises at her since day one, not even my husband! They are all scared of her. OOOOOO big bad 2 ounce bird... I'm scaaaared. I take the challenge and now I wont let anyone have anything to do with her because they didnt listen and learn when I was and Im not re-teaching. THEREFORE, they cant touch or mess with my baby and screw with her head. Ok, Ok, when I first got her I was a lil scared of her too but once my hands were skinless and most of my nerves had been pecked off, I wasnt scared anymore. Thats what ya have to do, right?

Im sure your bird knows step up and step down, if not then what is their to forget, thats where you start. So, get a perch stick. They will never have to touch him. It will work great for taking him in or out of the cage.

Good luck and please remember if he sits in that cage youll come back to a totally different buddy, you dont want that. We have already came too far.
