My girl Dodo (now about 11 weeks) came to me with her wings unclipped. She flew beautifully but I got the vet to clip them because she kept flying into walls.

This has not held her back long. Despite her wings being clipped she can still fly across the room with ease.

However she is still flying into walls. She ignores the glass screen door.
Today she flew into the wall opposite her cage at top speed and and force and I thought she would have broken her neck. Fortunately she seems to be fine.

What do I have to do to stop her from flying into walls? Cut off her wings?!

Her eyesight is fine, her health is fine, her mental health is fine. The wall is just a normal white wall. What do I do? She is going to hurt herself one day

Unfortunately they can still fly pretty well with a wing clip, the bird may have to have a very close clip if it doesn't stop flying into walls. Did the vet trim them? Take her back and get more taken off or she will hurt herself. It would be nice if they made helmets for them

Helmets would be a worthwhile invention for baby birds. They put helmets on birds of prey to stop them getting spooked don't they?

Over time they get used to their surroundings and will learn how to better their flying whether clipped or not. Yoda was a little skittish the first few weeks and kept flying into things too, maybe out of fright of the new surroundings and scary people! But now, he knows exactly where to avoid and where to land safely and can even turn corners and do a full 360 mid air, the little bugger needs a clip!

Just an idea, perhaps make the house dim for a while when he's flying.

I've been keeping an 'untame bird' over a week now and he's been flying around my house ok. I kept the house dim for the first week everytime I let him fly.

He did fly into the glass door the other day but I was stupid and had the blinds wide open so he must have thought it was open.
