Hi Jeremy,

I have attached a link to a bird I recently took in :) . Would you give us your best guess on the color?? Mik is "dying to know" and we couldn't let anything happen to Mik! :D !

She was on an all seed diet in pretty poor conditions. She is molting now...

Thanks,
Kim

Its a little hard to say without being able to see the flight feathers or toenails, but it looks like a Cinnamon Blue ('Skyblue')

Hey Jeremy - can you post a pic of that color or a link if you have one?

I would also like to see what the silver looks like next to the grey. I love the different mutations in Ringies, but I get confused sometimes when I am seeing the Aussie name and the US name.

I would also love to see the pics of your babies now with a label so I can see the difference in the color variations.

Thanks

Clara

Cinnamons will have light/brownish coloured toenails, and will also have bronish coloured flights. As opposed to solid black flights of a normal.

I will try and get some photos later on.

Jeeeeremy!!!

Come back hun, you have a whole hen house of girls with our feathers in a ruffle.

Baby has flesh colored feet. Black toes. Should ALL MUTATIONS be this way (except maybe inos)?

Can you tell us why some of our babies do and some dont look as you described (flesh, black toe nails)... and what that means?

We are a lil upset.

All the normal mutations like Green, Blue, and Grey Green have black or blackish toenails.
The Turquoise gene will usually lighten the colour of the nails.
Cinnamons have light fleshy coloured nails.
Ino's, Fallows? and Pieds have clear toenails.

I suppose it varies from bird to bird in terms of exactly how dark the nails are.

Its the same thing with the feet. The Green, Blues, and Grey Green's will have dark feet.
Cinnamons will have light feet.
Ino's, Fallows and Pieds will have pink feet.

Pieds vary a lot. So they may have a few clear nails and a few black nails. They may have pink feet, black feet, or both!

Hi Jeremy...the breeder I purchased Izzie from called her "olive" or grey green, her feet are flesh colored and her nails are only slightly darker. She is not the brighter limey green of a cinnamon....summer is the same. Does that fit if they are olives? skyes feet are also fleshy color but her nails are darker than the two green girls, but not black.

Thanks for humoring us. I guess it is not all that important but I still want to know :D

Have you got any more pics of your girls?
What colour are their flight feathers?

I will take pics tomorrow and post...the pics I have don't show flight feathers well...I would describle them as brownish, yellow underneath The greens).

Ok, off topic but bare with me.

Do all tiels have like freakishly long toes? When Peaches goes to step up on me her little feat look like a spider or something.

She is far smaller than Baby but her toes are freakishly long. Very skinny looooong toes. Normal?

On the otherhand, she doesnt have the tale-tale bald spot that ALL 'tinos do so I'll take the bad with the good. Wonder why she doesnt though.

Kimtoo, your girls don't have the Cinnamon gene.

Mik, Tiels do have long toes. A lot different to Ringnecks.
