Just thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm a 23 year old guy living in sunny(!) Queensland Australia, and 3 days ago, I became the proud recipient of a 5-week old Lutino ringneck ^_^.

This is my first ringneck, in fact, my first pet bird, ever.

It goes without saying that I am already totally smitten and looking foreward to all the trials and silly fun in the years ahead. I have called him 'Pachinko', after the crazy Japanese pinball, because he is also loud and brightly coloured. So far all he really does is eat and cower in fear. I'm looking foreward to weaning and really setting up a good bond with him.

As I'm completely new to the world of parrot-keeping, you can expect plenty of stupid frightened questions I'm sure... However I promise to scour the archived forums and try and find my answers there. ^_^

thanks much everyone,

-Frik

Welcome aboard and glad to hear you are already smitten.
Birds are such awesome pets, and when you realize how smart they
really are you'll be truely amazed.

Yipee, another Aussie .... Between all the aussies and the kiwis we'll be taking over soon

Congrats on your baby! I've got a greenie named Cricket who's 1 and a half years old. The terrible two's have hit already. She's really sweet but sometimes tries to bluff me by trying to rear over me by making herself really tall, and then gamon lunging forward (what a dork) she's never hurt me so all that show just goes to waste :o !

Just remember that they use their beak as a hand to get themselves up on you or whatever and to balance, and their not really biting... (you'll know it when they bite)

Have LOTS of fun
