Day by day growth?

Day by day growth?
Has anyone done a day by day photo diary of their chicks? Maybe next to something for size comparison.
I am curious to see as there is a huge development difference between my two chicks that were born a day apart. I wanted to see what stage mine seem to be up to, and if they are developing correctly.
Also I want to see at what stages things start changing, like the time feathers start to develop and come through the skin.
Has anyone been obsessive enough to do a day by day diary?
Cheers.

I would love to do this, but it will have to wait til next time babies are born so you can start from day one.
Plus because I am new to breeding ringnecks, I'm not 100% sure what they should generally look like at each stage, lol.

Tabeneske, Lushen has done a topic last year with weekly pictures. That should assist to a large extend. You can search the forum for that. What I think would be invaluable for all people intending to handraise birds is a data set containing daily weight measurements of the chicks. Perhaps the best time would be every morning before the first feeding with an empty crop, so as not to influence the results with food as well. Your one, being a slow developer, can serve as bottom benchmark. And my feeling is that, starting at day 5 or 10 or 15 is still much better than starting next year...

Good point. I will pick up an electronic kitchen scale tomorrow and start on it. Then at least there will be some data.

Re: Day by day growth?
Thank you so much for sharing that Shey.
According to your diary, my 14 day old chick looks like a 7 day old chick. So it's practically a week behind!
The one in the box seems to have a couple of days delayed development too. But that is just according to your data.
That was very interesting to go through.

Re: Day by day growth?
you're more than welcome my littlest 2 (chicks) are still roughly a week behind- my parent raised chick is a lot bigger than them still at 9 weeks old (today). I thought they would have both caught up by now- but slowly, slowly.

This isn't Day-To-Day ringneck photos, but its every few days. http://www.benthamscience.com/open/tooe ... OOENIJ.pdf
