Breeding Pet IRN

Hi,
I have two pet ring necks who are beginning to breed. They have never bred before and i have never hand reared before but i would like to hand rear one to keep as a pet.
My question is: Has anyone bred pet IRN's before and if so how did that go? How do i go about removing the chick i want to hand rear? And i have also heard that pets do not breed, is this true?
