I am assuming the hen is a Blue Violet Lacewing

25% Pallid Violet Blue

Hi thanks for your reply, I'm not sure if she is a blue violet, when I got her I was just told violet lacewing. Her coloring is very purple with white head, I can't see any blue, it's not a purple blue!!

Violet Green is the name for a green series violet, and Violet Blue (or Violet) is the name for a blue series violet.

'Violet' should only be used when the bird is a Doublefactor Violet (Violetdf)-ie two copies of the Violet Factor.
Singlefactor Violets are Violet Blues (Violetsf Blue)ie one copy of Violet Factor.
Many people call their sf Violets 'Violet'- though they really mean Violet Blue.

could just be the lighting, but she looks very dark for a Violet Blue Pallid- could be a Violet(df) Pallid (if picture is a true indication of colouring)

Hi thanks yes the pic is true to her color can't see any blue in her color like I have seen in some violet blues, do u think her mate is turquoise lacewing?

I wouldn't like to say from that pic.. (but could be)
Onto the hen, if she has any babies that aren't violet, then she would be a Violet(sf) Blue Pallid, rather than a Violet(df) Pallid.
