Purple Mutation

Hello, i am wondering how i would make a purple or violet mutation? What colors would i need, and their history?
I presume you are after blue series violets, not green series?
You would need to purchase a violet bird to produce violet birds.
For example, 2 single factor violet blues will give you blue, sf violet blue and double factor violet blue chicks.
A double factor violet blue cock and single factor violet blue hen will give both double factor and single factor chicks.
A double factor violet blue cock and a blue hen will give you all single factor chicks.
Look for Lushens thread "Basics on how to use Genetic Calculator" in the Mutations forum, and have a read - also there are several links to other sites that he has posted that give good explanations on how the mutations work, along with reference pics of the different colours etc. REALLY good reading! I highly recommend you read both the thread and the links he has posted if you are wanting to get into breeding, and to grasp a good understanding of how the mutations work.
