When did your ringnecks start being able to grasp?

Post by kayla_jarvis »

Zazu is now 13 weeks old and still will not grasp treats or food with his hands. Is this normal? What age did your ringnecks start adapting more adult behaviour and less baby traits?

It took a long time for Hane to be able to grasp his food in his foot with grace.

First he would start out holding it and trying to balance, then would drop the food and look forlornly at it.

Then he progressed to keeping hold of the food, but his coordination was a bit off resulting in him petting his cheek with the food.

Eventually he worked it all out.

Have you ever seen a baby using a spoon for the first time? It just takes a while for them to try it and then build their coordination.

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
