How old was your male ringneck when he began showing his rings? Just wondering when I should expect to see this is my little guy.

from 18 - 36 month but usually around 24 months of age

hi i just got my irn and it is only 6weeks old but it has a line round the cheeks where the black line is on the adults does that mean its a boy

Hmmm.. I'm not sure. I know females have a faint ring but nothing defined... time will tell I suppose, if it stays the same or comes in darker. DNA is the fastest method of determining gender.

No it does not mean it's a boy. I have two nest mates alexandrines sexed ascock and hen yet both display prominent black cheek marks.
