Hi there,

My name is Craig and I have a small family of 4. Myself, my partner, my 3 year old son and our new arrival, an Alexandrine Parrot who is 12 months old whom we have named Chico.

Just looking for some advice, the first day we got him we was quite unusual and slightly scared but after 2 days he was fine and showing off with tricks and talking etc. Today though he is in a nasty mood, I mean he is proper going for us (i.e. biting), won't come onto any of our hands and seems to be staying away. Is this normal behaviour? Any advice you guys could give would be appreciated.

Also how do Parrots like Chico cope with people who have full time jobs 9-5? As soon as we get home he is out out the cage for the night but today was his first day being in the cage since we had him and wondered if this was anything to do with his behaviour, well I say he but chances are it's a she.
