Hm ok. Well I will have to ask the breeder. Let's assume the mother is just blue then. What colors will I get? Obviously blues but could I get lutinos or albinos as well??

Hi;
The male is blue split ino (his father is ino) and the female is blue.
You can get blues (males and females) and albinos (only females)

the male is blue yes but thats not because the father is ino cause when the parents from the male were ino x bleu you don't is blue split ino:
1.0 ino x 0.1 blue

% from all 1.0
100.0% 1.0 green /blue ino

% from all 0.1
100.0% 0.1 ino /blue

the parents of the male maybe are:
1.0 ino /blue x 0.1 blue

% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 blue /ino
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino

% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 blue ino
50.0% 0.1 ino /blue

sorry, i don't want to be "the bad guy", but from that parents you cant get bleu females....

1.0 green /blue x 0.1 ino

% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 green /ino
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino

% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 green
50.0% 0.1 green /blue

i think you gone want to have a very good conversation with that breeder

when the mother is split bleu then you can have a blue female

1.0 green /blue x 0.1 ino /blue
% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 green /ino
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino
25.0% 1.0 blue /ino
% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 green
50.0% 0.1 green /blue
25.0% 0.1 blue

1.0 blue /ino x 0.1 blue

% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 blue /ino
50.0% 1.0 blue

there is no different between the male youngsters, blue and blue/ino looks the same

% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 blue ino (= albino = white bird)
50.0% 0.1 blue

Hi Lucas,

the calcs are wrong. an albino hen is blue ino, ino is a lutino, hence the green birds.

The correct calc is

1.0 green /blue
x 0.1 blue ino
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 blue /ino
50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 blue
50.0% 0.1 green /blue
Calculated on 25 Apr 2011 06:06:03 , Prague

so yes you can get a blue female, but it won't be split anything.

Regards

Shane

I am not meaning that the male is blue because his father is lutino but that he is split ino because his father is lutino.

From those parents you can, of course, get blue females since albino is not a mutation but a combination of mutations (lutino and blue)

Hi Njournal101,

OK i didnt read it all as i imagine you would have been confused by the end of it.

The parents of the blue bird would be as follows, lutino father was split blue, the mother of the baby is just blue hens cant be split to ino, so you blue male would be split ino,

Now when paired to a blue hen (as Recio said) 75% of the babies will be blue and the 25% that are albino will be hens.
