I noticed my ringneck is nibbling on wood shavings

Hi all i hope you can help me I noticed my rigneck is nibbling on the wood shaving he is only 4-5 weeks old , s is he starting to wean? I have placed a millet in his box but im not sure if he has taken it or not should i try someting?

Sounds normal, they tend to start investigating everything around them at this age - my last clutch loved tearing up newspaper to get my attention!
