Eye Colors

Post by JimHcctx »

I mated a male lutino with a green pallid female. I noticed the red eye on the oldest chick and initially thought it must be a hen. Then I started looking at the genetics calculator and see that pallid is co-dominant of sex linked ino and started looking closer at the entire clutch which all seems to have red eyes. Can someone tell me if my thinking is correct in that both the males and females will have red eyes as the males will all be pallidino? Or, do I just have four hens? Thanks

all from this pair are going to have red eyes. You can nest sex as well- all Pallidinos are male and all Lutinos are female :)

The eyes will not look red over time...(the irides will change to blue, and the pupils will darken to a black colour) but when a picture is taken with a flash- the blood (vessels) behind the pupil will be obvious.
