I have figured that I am only a portable seed bowl to Rookie lol, I am hoping that over time he will stop seeing me as a treat giver and more like a friend. It really sucks when the apple of your eye ignores you for some millet XD!!
Did anyone have this problem, and did it evolve into something more?
Perhaps someone could share a successful story of taming and training their IRNs? It would be good for morale I think haha!

It definitely does change over time, as they get to trust you and understand you more. We had Janey as a lone bird for a year before we bought Charlie. Charlie has always been more interested in Janey than being with us... Which is probably as it should be. However, when Janey was nesting, he was at a loose end & I found he was becoming my little shadow, which was kinda sweet. Now that Janey's nesting period is over, he's not quite he same shadow he was, but I can see he definitely likes spending time with me. When I came home this evening my husband had let them out. They were both sitting on the couch watching the tv - it appears hubby is turning them into cricket fans. As soon as Chatlie saw me, he flew to be close to me even though I didn't have any treats on me, which was very lovely.
