Re: what to breed with
Ok let's say you put a yellow cock to your white hen
If the yellow cock has no splits then this will be the results considering your hen also carries no splits
1.0 ino
x 0.1 blue ino
% from all 1.0
100.0% 1.0 ino /blue
% from all 0.1
100.0% 0.1 ino /blue
So as you can see from this pairing you gonna produce all visually yellow birds in both sexes and all birds will be split for blue.
If the yellow cock is split say for blue then this is the results
1.0 ino /blue
x 0.1 blue ino
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 blue ino
50.0% 1.0 ino /blue
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 blue ino
50.0% 0.1 ino /blue
As you can see from this you gonna produce visual white birds in both sexes as well as visually yellow birds split for blue in both sexes.
So it all depends what you want to achieve with your female?
Thanks
Lushen

Re: what to breed with
Split Violet?
Are you sure about this cos the genetic calculator does not allow for a blue split violet.
Can the more experience guys like Madas, Glenn and Recio comment and help out with this?
Thanks

Re: what to breed with
You have to go to the photobucket or imageshack website and register and upload your pics there, then copy and paste the link to your pic here for it to show.
Let's say that your parent birds have no splits then this is the results of you mating with a violet cock and a blue hen
1.0 blue violet(sf)
x 0.1 blue
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 blue
50.0% 1.0 blue violet(sf)
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 blue
50.0% 0.1 blue violet(sf)
As you can see you get visual violet and blue birds in both sexes with no splits, see if you can get the genetic history of your birds, and also post a pic of the male in question which you say is violet split blue so that others can help you to properly identify this bird and work out what splits the parent birds are carrying
Thanks
Lushen

ok thanks for the help. he must be a blue then because the only signs of purple are at the back of his head when the sun hits him
