Ok, so I had a female Lutino by her self and she really wanted to be a mom, She laid 4 eggs and sat on them like a champ for nearly forty days.
My green Cheek conure eggs finally hatched and I started replacing eggs 1-for-1 with the greencheek babies at 3 days old.
She is raising a clutch of green-cheeks...
gotta love ringnecks!

Re: Good Mom
hoe come you wanted her to raise the green cheeks?
Re: Good Mom
It's not that I wanted her to raise green cheeks, She laid while she was the only bird in the cage, and sat on the eggs for the entire time. I chose to give her some babies to raise just so she would have the experience raising babies rather that merely pull the eggs. She can raise the green-cheeks and get practise being a parent. Hopefully in a year or two I will have a male she can pair up with.
Now my sun conure on the other hand just laid two eggs, her mate is a green-cheek...
I just didnt have a male for the ring neck and when she laid, and sat, I just figured I would encourage the behavior.
