Flight Harness

Post by Lila_ »

Does anyone know where one can get a flight harness in New Zealand (or in Australia if they will ship)?
Thats flight harness, not suit.

Also does anyone here use them or know anything about them? Is it hard to get the bird to accept it?
My cockatiel does not move from my shoulder whether I'm in a shop or just walking down the road, but Dodo is somewhat more adventurous and I would like to be able to take her outside without worrying that she will disappear into the sunset.

Clipping not sufficient?
I suppose if you are walking around town there is potential - even if it can't fly - for damage to be done...!
I'm sure someone will know - like Datsun & Co.
Either that or contact Bird Barn in Auks. 09 838 8745
They are pretty much the tweety-bird specialists (unless you are a south islander - in which case, apologies :D)

Thanks Skibum
I have been to Birdbarn (I'm in love with Mr Biggles so go there whenever I get a chance) and will try and get hol of Datsun's mum.

Yeah I had the vet clip her wings but it only set her back a day or two. She flies as though they were never clipped and I dont want to clip them shorter because I dont want her to end up like my sister's bird, always falling everywhere and hurting herself.

Dont want to take her into town but I think she would appreciate a walk around Albert Park on a nice day.
