Hello. I have a pair of IRN's. My female is really agressive. She tries to attack anything that comes near the cage. She will be there doing nothing then all of a sudden she starts chases the male all over. Is this normal, is there hope for them to breed.
Also i have an idea what if you take the IRN's first two clutches away and use cockatiels to hatch and raise them and leave the third one for the IRN's.

From what I have read, it says that the female is usually not to nice to the male until she is ready to breed. So I guess it's typical behavior for her. I have also read that if the female doesn't like the male she will not mate with him either so that might be the case too.
I don't know if it's a good idea to have other breeds of birds raise the IRN birds. You don't know how they are going to react to eachother, it could be great or it could be a disaster! Hope this helps.
