What am I?
Posting for a friend, he picked it out of an aviary of birds because it stood out- any ideas on what it could be?

Hi Shey
I can't see Dark Factor in that colour so my best guess is DF Violet.
Kind regards
Mike

Shey,
Could you please show us your DF Violet SF Dark bird?
this combo is nothing like the bird in Q.
** Shey: ask the breeder who owns the bird this:
Is it true that this bird looked like a cobalt before the 3 year moult? a lot lighter about 2 times lighter.
(PS i don't know whose bird this is)

Re: What am I?
Judging from the tattoo it could be Mick Blake.Ring0Neck wrote: (PS i don't know whose bird this is)
regarding the bird: def. not a violet(df) dark(sf) blue. Could be 'deep'(df) dark(sf) blue or 'deep'(sf) violet(sf) blue.
Re: What am I?
Ben- I don't believe I have a dfViolet sfDark anymore, I believe they simply are dfViolets or a sfViolet sfDark Blues- both have completed their moults and are less greyish.
here are both anyway- first i believe to be dfViolet, the second to be a sfViolet, sfDark
The bird was acquired a few days ago- no history is presently known- I haven't personally seen the bird, but apparently it is of a 'deep, rich purple colouration' My guess going off of the pics and his description is a df / sf Deep sfViolet Blue.
It reminds me very much of the bird Madas took pics of at the bird exhibition:

Re: What am I?
Johan, I thought this violet compared with the brightness of Clearhead or BC splits.
Although when I photographed my violet split It is not as dark or bright.
The brightness of green split Clearhead looks closer to that strikingly beautiful deep violet ringneck.
Attached pic's to compare brightness and feet.
