Molossus,

I have 1 young that matches your description as i mentioned earlier both parents carry Deep
If you have these birds imported from OZ think Deep
I suspect Deep Blue + dark or df deep? + dark etc
IMO some deeps were passed on as Cobalts especially deep dark or deep violet combos hard to tell apart if no reference birds exists.

Ben, Molossus refers to a cobalt violet phenotype. Are you saying the above will have a violet phenotype too? I think I'm missing something. :?

Johan

i see a nest of hornets & they double clutched this year

Please refer to Willy's pics
I don't want to make him re-register so soon just to reply to my post
as a general remark a breeder could mistake a df deep -+ cobalt for a violet cobalt IMO
but not if you have a violet-cobalt in the same cage.

I suggest we rather stick to the topic of emerald underwing markings. It is a much safer discussion.

How about that for timing?
I was just thinking of your Azure and how you like to keep us waiting. :?

Hi Molossus
I have a known Violet EmeraldBlue Cleartail juvenile. I can take a pic of its back if you think it might help. However, if you want decent resolution I will have to send it direct as I haven't yet worked out how to post hi res photos.
Kind regards
Mike

Mike, I know it's a pain the first time, but follow the steps in this link to add photos first to photobucket, and then to link them here on the forum:
