Post by Socket »

Hello everyone. I am so excited to be picking up my new and first IRN today! Also, I am happy to have found this forum which I am certain will become my safe haven for asking questions and learning what my new baby needs.. I aim to be the best birdie-mama that I can be, with your help. Thank you all for sharing!

It's a good forum and very active and friendly. Be sure to read through threads like diet and housing, and behavior & taming.

Thank you Dixie! I am on the way home with my little feathered friend now. He is just 3.5 months old but hand tame and quite sociable! It will be tough to take my time with getting to know him, he's so adorable!

Feeling very welcome! Thanks.
We've just passed 32 hours at home now and our little pumpkin is eating, drinking and spending time outside the cage with us for short periods. He likes to be on my shoulder or on the floor. He also doesn't even worry at all about the cats. This is all too unreal!
He squawked at me a few times today too. Can't wait to teach him tricks and speech!
I say "him" but we don't know yet if it's male or female, how did you all choose names without knowing the sec of your birds?
Will figure out how to post pics soon.

Oh. My. God. My IRN is the most precious thing ever! He is already loving to be near me all the time. When he's not the centre of attention on his java wood perch in the coffee table, he prefers to be on my shoulder, or when my hair is wet - IN MY HAIR!
Yesterday while he was sitting on my shoulder he was watching my lips as I spoke to him, then he suddenly reached his head around in front of mine and rubbed the side of his beak across my lip. It was so cute!
Can't wait to learn more about how to train him. He's such a great companion.
