Hello!!

Post by OmSeth »

Hey everyone!

First of all my name is Esraa, and I'm from Kuwait
around 6 months ago I rescued a IRP, and fell in love with her :)
though she isn't tame (no wonder for a neglected bird) and I'm currently trying to find the best way to tame her (anyone got tips?)

anyway I know everyone loves pictures so here she is

Age is well over 2 years, 3 or 4.. not exactly sure though, past owners weren't even good enough to know but I did get how long they had her for

Image Esraa & Bella :) Nice to see you both.

Good on you Esraa for rescuing Bella and giving her a better start in life.
She looks so sweet!

As for tips on taming her, just take things very slow and talk to her often. Lots of love, and favourite treats, :D always goes along way.
Does she come near you while in the cage, or can you sort of handle her? It would depend on how trusting of people she is as to how far along you can start. I guess it would also depend on if Bella was hand raised or aviary bred.

There are a few threads here that may be of some help towards taming Bella.

Best of luck!

Oh by the way, nice pic of Bella :)

Hello Esraa welcome aboard!
Your Bella looks beautiful, dont worry about her not being tame yet, spend more time with her, encourage her to love you, and she will be your best friend sooner or later, just like how I tame my new male ringneck named leepo.

At first he was afraid of my hand or any other hand and would scream when I try to pet him or make him step up on my finger, now he would come over near me and seek interaction, he allows me to pet his head too! Although he doesn't seems to be enjoying it, but he doesn't move away or look afarid when I stroke his head. Im soo happy!

Anyway I live in Saudi arabia! :D
